Namekagon River: Wisconsin's Moving National Park

Fishing on the Namekagon

The Namekagon River offers the ideal destination for fishermen searching for a great fishing spot. The Namekagon has received national recognition for the naturally reproducing brown and brook trout fisheries on the section of river upstream of Hayward. In addition to trout, the Namekagon also produces walleye, bass, muskellunge, northern pike and panfish.

If you're looking to get out and learn how to fly fish or would prefer to have a guided fishing trip on the river, be sure to check out the fishing outfitters.

As always, your help is needed in keeping the riverway clean. Please follow all steps to prevent the spread of aquatic invasive species. In addition, please pack out anything you pack in on the river. Find out more at Leave No Trace.
