The headwaters of the St. Croix National Scenic Riverway are in southern Bayfield County at Lake Namakagon. From the Namekagon Dam Landing, the river gently winds through forest and marshlands with low banks and lots of opportunities to see wildlife. The river here is narrow and shallow with stretches of rocky rapids. Bayfield County is home to approximately 17.5 miles of the 100 mile Namekagon River. Be sure to check water levels before heading out as this section is susceptible to low water.

This yurt is nestled in the Bayfield County Forest and is only accessible by foot, snowshoe, ski, or bike. Our yurts are 20 feet in diameter and insulated for year round use, complete with woodstove. Fire wood is provided only for heating with the woodstove. The yurt comes equipped with 2 bunk beds; a full mattress on the bottom and a twin mattress on top and sleeps up to 6 people. No linens or pillows are provided, so be sure to pack your sleeping bag.

Bike In/Bike Out, Ski In/Ski Out. Cabin 16 is a 3-BR/3-BA slice of heaven located at the end of the road up in the forested hills. The cabin is completely surrounded by the woods. The cabin has 3 queen-sized beds, cable TV, WIFI access, and an office area for those who cannot totally disconnect from the everyday. The cabin comfortably accommodates 6 and affords plenty of space to stretch out. An adult dog is welcome for an extra $75/stay.
