Bayfield County

The headwaters of the St. Croix National Scenic Riverway are in southern Bayfield County at Lake Namakagon. From the Namekagon Dam Landing, the river gently winds through forest and marshlands with low banks and lots of opportunities to see wildlife. The river here is narrow and shallow with stretches of rocky rapids. Bayfield County is home to approximately 17.5 miles of the 100-mile Namekagon River. Spend the day exploring the South Shore and snowshoeing along the Namkeagon headwater trails. The beautiful and breathtaking setting will make for an adventurous, love-filled day.
